This policy explains what Audora does with your information. Audora is a media player for files that are already on your device.

1. Summary

Audora plays audio and video files stored on your own device. It has no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours behind it. Your library — what files you have, what you play, and what you mark as a favourite — stays on your device.

Audora does collect a small amount of anonymous usage information through Google Firebase Analytics, so we can tell which features are actually used. That information describes whether a feature was used, never what you played. Section 4 lists exactly what is sent, and section 5 lists exactly what is not.

2. How Audora reaches your media

Audora uses the Android Storage Access Framework. You choose a folder; Android grants Audora access to that folder and nothing else. You can add more folders at any time, and you can remove a folder from within Audora, which releases the Android permission along with it.

Audora does not request broad storage or media permissions. It does not ask for READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. It cannot see files outside the folders you have explicitly selected.

Audora also does not request microphone access. It holds no RECORD_AUDIO permission.

3. Information stored on your device

All of the following is written to Audora's own private storage area on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is not readable by other apps.

Cover artwork cache	Thumbnails extracted from your own files, so artwork does not have to be re-read constantly. Android may clear this cache at any time.

This information is read from your files and your actions. Audora does not create a profile from it and does not send it anywhere.

4. Information collected through Firebase Analytics

Audora uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features people use, so development effort goes to the parts of the app that matter. This is the only service Audora sends anything to.

4.1 Events Audora records

Audora records exactly four events. Each is a bare name with no attached information whatsoever:

audio_play_started — audio playback began
video_play_started — a video was opened
search_used — the library search was used
favorite_toggled — a favourite was added or removed

These events say that something happened. They do not say which file, which folder, which search term, or which favourite. That is a property of how they are built, not a promise about how we handle them afterwards: the events carry no fields that could hold such information.

4.2 Information Firebase adds automatically

Google's Analytics service attaches its own standard information to each event. To the best of our knowledge this includes:

a randomly generated app-instance identifier (not tied to your name, email, or Google account)
session information, such as when a session started and how long it lasted
the screen within the app the event came from
device model, operating system version, and device language
the Audora app version
an approximate country, derived by Google from the network address the request came from — not precise location, and Audora does not request or hold any location permission

This is collected by Google as part of the Analytics service rather than assembled by Audora. It is used to understand aggregate product usage. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.

4.3 Advertising identifiers and attribution

Audora does not collect the Android Advertising ID. Collection of it is switched off in the app's configuration, and the associated Android permission is removed from the app before it is built, so the released app does not carry it.

Audora also does not use install-referrer or advertising attribution, and the related permissions are likewise removed from the released app. Audora contains no advertising, no ad network, and no advertising SDK. Nothing in Audora is used for advertising, ad targeting, ad measurement, or building advertising audiences.

5. What Audora never transmits

Audora never sends any of the following off your device:

file names
file paths or folder names
storage locations or document URIs
titles, artist names or album names
subtitle text
audio-track names
anything you type into search
any other text you enter
the media files themselves, or artwork from them

Audora contains no code that uploads your media or your library, and it makes no network requests of its own beyond the Analytics service described above.

6. No account and no Audora server

There is no Audora account and no sign-in. We operate no server, no database and no cloud storage that holds your information. There is nothing on our side that could be linked to you, because we never receive anything that identifies you.

7. Retention and deletion

Information on your device. It stays until you remove it. You can delete all of it by uninstalling Audora, or by clearing Audora's storage in Android Settings → Apps → Audora → Storage. Removing a folder from within Audora also removes the items in it from your library. Because none of this data leaves your device, you do not need to ask us to delete it — and we could not, since we never hold it.

Analytics information. Held by Google under Firebase's retention settings for the project, and stored in aggregate form for reporting. Because the analytics information contains nothing that identifies you and is not linked to any account, we cannot isolate or retrieve one person's records from it. If you would prefer not to send analytics at all, you can uninstall Audora; a future release may add an in-app setting for this.

8. Third-party services

Google Firebase Analytics, provided by Google. Its role is limited to receiving the four events in section 4.1 together with the automatic information in section 4.2, and presenting them to us as aggregate usage reports. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's own terms:

Audora integrates no other third-party service. It contains no crash-reporting service, no advertising network, no social-network integration, no analytics service other than the one named above, and no third-party content delivery.

Audora is distributed through Google Play. Google Play's own collection in connection with distribution, installation and updates is governed by Google's policies and is outside our control.

9. Security

Audora's main protection is that there is very little to protect: your library information stays on your device, and there is no account and no server of ours to breach.

Specifically:

Data Audora stores is written to app-private storage, which Android isolates from other applications.
Media access is limited to the folders you explicitly select, through the Storage Access Framework.
Analytics data is sent to Google over an encrypted connection, as provided by the Firebase SDK.
The released app is signed with our production signing key.

We describe only the safeguards actually in place. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

10. Children

Audora is a general-purpose media player and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children, and — having no account, no sign-in, and no user-supplied content — it collects no information from which a person's age could be determined.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you, such as the right to access it, correct it, or have it deleted.

In Audora's case these rights are largely satisfied by the app's design: the information about your library and listening is on your device, under your control, and can be inspected or deleted by you at any time without asking us. We do not hold personal data that would let us identify you or respond to a request about a specific individual.

12. Changes to this policy

If Audora's data practices change, this policy will be updated before or alongside the release that changes them, and the version number and date at the top will change. Significant changes will be reflected in the app's release notes on Google Play. The current version is stated at the top of this page.
